“Food” Tour in the Five Holy Lands of Kinki

Sharing the culture and attractiveness of the Kinki Region

We have been promoting ”Food” Tour in the Five Holy Lands of Kinki since 1st July 2017.
The chef has been personally pursuing and arranging ingredients and specialty food products related to each of the five holy lands mentioned in “Kinki’sGobosei” theory as a search for the stars. Please enjoy the journey of the circle of Gobosei through the food of each month throughout the year.
What is the Five Holy Lands of Kinki?
They are five holy lands of gods - Ise Jingu, Kumano Hongu Taisha, Izanagi Jingu, Moto-Ise and Mt. Ibuki - scattered around the Kinki region. Drawing clear

lines connecting each of the five spots forms a star with Nara Heijo-kyo in the center and this concept is called Gobosei theory.

The five holy lands KAISEKI “MOTOISE”

The fifth holy land of the “Food” Tour in the Five Holy Lands of Kinki is the Konojinja Shrine which is famous as the Tango Ichinomiya. It is known as the Motoise (original Ise) Konojinja Shrine from the legend that Amaterasu Omikami and Toyouke no Omikami residing at the
inner and outer shrines at the Ise Grand Shrine were transferred from this location.
In the KAISEKI course of November, we offer seasonal, exquisite ingredients from Tango, Kyoto such as premium tilefish called “GUJI” in Kyoto, Japanese oval squid known as “autumn squid” and ncient red rice.

Amanohashidate, a beautiful landscape with white sand and green pine trees,is located in Miyazu, Kyoto.
It has been loved by people since early times and expressed in poems and paintings.
The 3.2 km white sandbar, with its width ranging from 20 to 170 m, covered by 5,000 pine trees is dividing Miyazu Bay to create this unique view. Amanohashidate is designated as Nihon Sankei (The Three Views of Japan) with Matsushima and Miyajima.
